Parent Education

Child & Family Resources assists parents in developing their family strengths and obtaining their goals through Parent Education classes and home visiting programs. We offer classes in various topics in four to eight week session programs. Any parent desiring to learn more about parenting skills is invited to attend. We offer classes in:

  • Parent Skills Education - child development, behavior management and discipline, goal setting, routines, consequences, etc.
  • Parent/Child Interactions - appropriate expectations and interactions, easy to do activities, role-modeling, etc.

Child abuse prevention through education and training is a principle focus of Child & Family Resources. Parenting programs fulfill court ordered requirements and participant may obtain a certificate. Parent educators facilitate programs, often teaming up with community resources to offer information, support, skills and techniques to enhance and improve parenting.

Supervised Visitation

Visitation with a trained supervisor is offered at Child & Family Resources in a family friendly setting, on an as-needed-basis. By appointment, Family Educators can accommodate family and attorney requests for visitation in one of our two locations.

Child & Family Resources is committed to providing a setting that is conducive to both parent and child. Age appropriate activities are available and offer parents an opportunity to interact with their young children in a positive manner. Parents may also participate in a Child & Family Resources program to obtain parenting skills education. Child and Family Resources provides Supervised Visitation for court referred parents with a sliding fee scale payment option.
