Healthy Families Ontario

Helping Families...
Are you pregnant or a parent of a newborn?
If so you might be eligible for the Healthy Families Program...
Having a child in today’s world is a big responsibility. It’s not always easy to know the “right” thing to do as a parent– who to turn to with a question or who to talk to when things seem overwhelming. Healthy Families Ontario can help you. We understand that you are your child’s first and best teacher, and we want to help you be the best parent you can be.
We are a group of trained family workers who offer support and services to new moms and dads.
We have answers to your questions and connections in the community.
We are a program of Child & Family Resources, Inc., your local Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (CCRR) and Family Resource Center.
We work together with doctors, hospitals, child care centers, child development specialists and many others in the community who can answer questions about:
- Basic infant care
- Breast feeding and bottle feeding
- How your baby learns and grows
- Parent-child interaction
- When to call the doctor
This program is free for your family.

Listening
- Recognizing and reinforcing the family’s strengths

- Celebrating with the parents the uniqueness of their baby and the gift of parenting
- Regular home visits
- Assisting the parents in finding time for themselves and for their growth through education, employment, counseling, support groups or other positive steps
- Referrals to medical and community agencies as needed
